How Does Aclovir 250 mg Work?

Acyclovir targets viral DNA replication. It is selectively activated inside virus-infected cells through a three-step process:

1. Selective Activation: Viral thymidine kinase (TK) activates Acyclovir inside infected cells.
2. Conversion: Acyclovir is converted to its active form, Acyclovir triphosphate.
3. Inhibition: Acyclovir triphosphate blocks viral DNA synthesis by terminating the growing DNA chain.

This prevents HSV and VZV from multiplying and spreading in the body.
